Care and Maintenance Guides

Roman blinds

ROMAN BLIND CARE ON DELIVERY:

When your blind is delivered, store it in a safe place where it can lay completely flat in the packaging until installation.

Once it’s hung it can take a week to settle in. Dressing in your blind can help the process. If possible dress your blind in after every use for the first week by gently folding the pleats neatly into shape.

ROMAN BLIND MAINTENANCE:

Our Roman blinds should be professionally dry cleaned by a specialist. In between cleans you can very gently use the correct attachment on your vacuum cleaner to prolong the life of the blinds.

ROMAN BLIND OPERATION:

Our Roman blinds are fitted by law with a Child safety mechanism. This means that the cog will pop out if too much force is applied to the chain.

To make sure the child safety cog doesn’t come out during normal blind operation, be careful not to pull the chain too hard. Once the blind is all the way up or down, you will feel a resistance in the chain – don’t keep pulling!

You should also keep the blind chain pointing straight down to the floor and not at an angle.

If the child safety cog does come out, it’s easy to pop it back in.

CURTAINS

CURTAIN CARE ON DELIVERY:

When your curtains are delivered, store them in a safe place where they can lay completely flat in the packaging until installation.

Once hung it can take a week for them to settle in. Dressing in your curtains can help the process. If possible keep them tied in their pleats for the first week.

CURTAIN MAINTENANCE:

Our bespoke curtains should be professionally dry cleaned. In between cleans you can very gently use the correct attachment on your vacuum cleaner to prolong the life of your curtains.

CURTAIN DRESSING:

When your new curtains have been hung, they should be dressed in, to ‘teach’ them how to sit in neat folds.

Simply run your hands inbetween the pleats brushing them into place as you go.
